Dealer Auction is set to help address some of the most pressing issues facing the used car sector after announcing that it has joined the Vehicle Remarketing Association (VRA).

One of the UK’s busiest digital wholesale auction platforms, Dealer Auction is a joint venture between Cox Automotive and Auto Trader and has gone from strength to strength since its launch in 2020.

As a sector pioneer with more than 5,000 partners, Dealer Auction currently handles more than a million bids on its platform per year and says now is the right time to join the conversation.

Dealer Auction CEO Le Etta Pearce said: “For more than a decade, the VRA has spoken on behalf of businesses involved in all aspects of the used car sector. We have been increasingly impressed by discussions it has spearheaded, as well as the important work it does to champion the sector at the highest level.

“It’s a great time for us to join the conversation. Becoming a VRA member allows us to lend both our support and a digital perspective to an increasingly complicated industry facing numerous challenges. We’re keen to play our part and share our experience and insights with like-minded brands for the overall good of the sector.”

VRA Chair Philip Nothard welcomed the Association’s latest member and said Dealer Auction had become a much-valued presence at VRA events.

He added: “The role of ‘digital’ in remarketing is growing all the time and I’m sure Dealer Auction will bring with them a fresh viewpoint and expertise. As a very well-connected business, they’ll also be able to give our members unique data insights to help shape the strategy of the work we do.”

Having launched in 2010, the VRA represents businesses involved in all aspects of the used car sector – from valuation to preparation, transportation to sale and franchise dealer to car supermarket. Its members are involved in the processing more than 1.5 million used cars, vans and trucks every year.
