Cox Automotive has scooped two top accolades recognising the company for being an exemplary employer. The company has been named the fourth best company to work for in the automotive industry and the 18th best company to work for in the whole of the UK.

The lists have been compiled by employee engagement specialist Best Companies, which accredits businesses that value their people and that understand the importance of a truly engaged workforce.

The CEO of Best Companies, Jonathan Austin said: “Our Best Companies to Work For Lists and Best Companies Accreditation are now recognised as the standard in workplace engagement. We care because we truly believe that people who are fully engaged at work feel happier and more secure, which makes them more productive. To achieve this, we live by our four key principles: care, humility, responsibility and discipline.”

Cox Automotive places an emphasis on its people, with a culture focused around creating winning people, winning leadership, and a winning workplace. At the heart of this is a diversity and inclusion strategy that aims to get the best out of every individual and create high-performing, happy and satisfied teams.

Peter Bell, Cox Automotive’s Chief Operating Officer for Europe said: “I am immensely proud that we have been recognised by Best Companies as one of the best businesses to work for in the UK. I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to every single one of our employees who make Cox Automotive the business that it is today. This award really is for all of us!”

Sarnjit Kaur, Cox Automotive’s HR Director for Europe, added: “What an amazing accomplishment for all of us to share. We’re right up there at the top with some big companies and well-known brands. Our aspiration for next year is to be number one. We’ll be working hard to protect the great work we’ve done to achieve these results and of course, make improvements before next year’s survey. We’re committed to making our workplace the best it can be.”

The Best Companies organisation was launched by CEO Jonathan Austin in 2001. Performance is measured through employee surveys which in turn seeks to improve employee engagement. This allows Best Companies to analyse data from UK businesses more effectively than any other organisation, helping employers excel and change to create an engaged workforce.
