Stellantis-owned Robins & Day has extended its relationship with global vehicle remarketing provider Manheim for another year, five months ahead of schedule.
The dealer group cites exceptional service levels and a desire to expand on its relationship with both Manheim and Cox Automotive, as key to agreeing the deal early.
The agreement continues an 18-month long relationship between the two brands and will see Robins & Day remarket a minimum of 6,000 units a year through Manheim auctions, split between passenger car and light commercial vehicles (LCV). Volume will come from across Robins & Day’s 30 rooftops, encompassing more than 60 franchises.
Speaking about the agreement, Richard Garbutt, sales director at Robins & Day, said: “Throughout the past 18 months we have been delighted with the exceptional levels of service we have received from Manheim and the high quality of their remarketing services. It is clear to us that through both Manheim and the wider Cox Automotive group, there are other highly valuable vehicle services we can take advantage of, which is why we wanted to agree this deal ahead of schedule, so that we can explore other opportunities for further partnership."
Robins & Day is already working closely with Cox Automotive to trial several other services that complement Manheim’s remarketing provision, supporting the brand throughout the vehicle lifecycle. Extending the current remarketing deal until 2022 ensures efficient vehicle disposal, with sales going through Manheim’s Leeds and Colchester sites.
James Leese, chief customer officer at Cox Automotive, commented: “The fact that we are extending our remarketing programme with Robins & Day five months ahead of schedule is fantastic news and testament to the brilliant relationship between our two companies.
“Robins & Day is one of the most recognised and influential dealer groups in the UK, operating at the forefront of vehicle retail transformation. With a number of multi-brand locations throughout the UK, they have one of the most impressive and varied stock profiles of any retailer and it’s great that we can continue working with them to ensure efficient vehicle disposal for vehicles that reach the end of their fixed term.
“There are also several other opportunities for our two businesses to work together and we are excited about growing our relationship even further in the coming months.”
Robins & Day is a manufacturer owned dealer group selling four brands including Peugeot, Citroen DS and Vauxhall vehicles, with sites nationwide. As a country-wide group, the business has more than 100 years of trading experience and recently added specialist EV knowledge and vehicles to each of its dealerships.
